DARE’s Mission Statement:
DARE advances diversity, equity, and inclusion in arthroplasty research by improving the understanding and representation of diverse patient populations and fostering an inclusive community of surgeons and scientists whose perspectives strengthen the field.
New Format and DARE Award at ISTA Munich 2026

The DARE program is designed to highlight and promote research that addresses disparities, equity, and inclusion in arthroplasty care, including studies focused on underrepresented populations, social determinants of health, access to care, and outcomes across diverse patient groups.
In addition, the initiative aims to support and elevate diversity among the surgeons and scientists conducting arthroplasty research by recognizing work that broadens perspectives within the field and fosters a more inclusive academic community. Submitting your work to this initiative helps advance meaningful dialogue and awareness around diversity in orthopaedic research while also promoting opportunities for diverse investigators to contribute to and shape the future of the specialtyIf you believe your abstract contributes to improving the understanding, representation, and visibility of diverse patient populations in arthroplasty research, we encourage you to consider submitting it for evaluation through the DARE initiative (Diversity in Arthroplasty Research).

DARE Abstract Submissions 2026
If your abstract enhances the understanding, representation, or visibility of diverse patient populations in arthroplasty research, we encourage you to submit it to the DARE initiative (Diversity in Arthroplasty Research). DARE highlights research addressing disparities, equity, and inclusion in arthroplasty care (such as work on underrepresented groups, social determinants of health, access to care, and outcome differences) and promotes diversity among researchers by recognizing studies that broaden perspectives and strengthen an inclusive academic community.

Please email support@istaonline.org with ‘DARE Award submission’ + your abstract ID in your email subject line for your abstract to also be considered for DARE. Please also mention your abstract ID in the body of the email. We would appreciate a short motivation why you think your work should be awarded with the very first DARE Award at ISTA Munich 2026.
